I have to ask why you are looking for one, because I don't think buying one will be your best course of action.

lol I can understand the concern but the good news is its not for me, its for my little bro. he has next to no money and thats the only option to him due to the price it would take to make a worthwhile up-grade

Unless he's already got an AGP card that's (way) better than an integrated one, I suggest getting a PCI-E one. The prices of AGP cards these days are way higher than the ones of PCI-E cards. For example, a 7600GT for PCI-E can be 40€, and the price for an AGP one is very likely to be over 80€.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I think he has 7900GT AGP if I'm not mistaken.

thing is he has all the bits from his last pc but he managed to kill the motherboard, no idea how. did tests on the rest of his gear and it all works, just minus a motherboard

That is indeed a reason to get an AGP board. I used a 7600GS (although PCI-E) until just a couple of months ago.

I would, however, recommend him to sell his current graphics card, if he cleans it out and makes sure it's in prime condition, he could get enough cash to buy both a PCI-E mobo and an 8600GT.

He could easily get £30-35 for it. Just gotta make sure it's in good condition. As I said, AGP cards go for much these days. Then, he could use the cash he has for the mobo already and what he gets to get a much cheaper 8600GT PCI-E and a cheap PCI-E mobo.
