My assertion that guns are designed only to kill and maim holds true lowing and, as I have said, all Muslims are not predisposed towards violence so yes, it is a weak comparison. Also, I have not deemed America to be a dangerous place solely because of guns. The high numbers of gun ownership plays a large part but I would argue that it is the violent culture and wild west mentality among many gun owners that is the main contributing factor...look at Switzerland as a comparative example of a country that shows responsibility in its gun ownership.lowing wrote:
1. Not a weak comparision, you have deemed America dangerous due to guns in our country regardless of the small percentage of those that are killed by them. This same percentage refuses you to acknowledge Islam for what it is.
Lowing there is endless debate over the translation and interpretation of the Qu'ranic texts and yet you filter out all but the negative ones then go around preaching as though you're the only one clued in to the reality of this religion. It's funny how this extremist element of Islam has only intruded noticeably on Western life as American interference in Middle Eastern life has increased! Many scholars have continually argued that the extremist interpretations seen in the actions of the kind of people documented on those great websites you love to frequent have only become popular throughout history in times when Islam has been put under pressure from outside.lowing wrote:
I do not need the Koran, the research has already been done, no need to re do it. If you wanna ignore it I can not control that.
I can acknowledge that extremist interpretations of this ancient and complicated text exist yet you seem incapable of acknowledging that moderate and peaceful interpretations exist...so tell me who is the one ignoring things?
