Why do you assume that certain other verses trump the 'peace' verses?  Because it fits your agenda? Are they later in the Q'uran? You do realise that the Q'uran is not in chronological order? I think you'll find the vast majority of Muslims take the peaceful interpretation. As evidenced by reality.

Perhaps Bush, given that he is one of those evangelical nuts who take the old testament seriously, has been latching onto these quotes from the Bible:

I can tell you that any terrorism done in the name of Christianity is just that, Christian terrorism. If a group of Christians ban together AS Christians in a terror act, regardless of their reasoning, it would be Christian terrorism.

Also the war profiteer thing doesn't do a whole lot to ruffle my feathers either, you have no idea as to what I am doing here or why so I am content with you thinking anything you want regarding that as well.

I am not in a country full of people I hate, sorry to burst your bubble there as well. I am in a country that I hope gets to represent itself in the Olympics. I am in a country that I cheer for morethan the US for a great showing. These people need their national pride back, they need acknowledgement and acceptance. It is happening and I am all for it.

You have no idea how I feel when I listen to the soldiers stories that surround me.  You have no idea how I felt when I flew over Baghdad in a chopper and looked down to see the poverty that the Iraqis are living with. You have no idea as to how I felt after learning of the cruelty of Saddam and his sons, while I am looking at the very places these atrocities have taken place. You have no idea how proud I am that we are not going to leave these people until they can help themselves ( I hope). These people do not need a civil war like you contend, they need peace in their lives, they need stabilty, they need some one to stand up for them until they are able to stand for themselves. Cam, I have been moved to tears with thoughts of all of these things.  Things finally are getting better and these people deserve it. Hate Iraqis? Far from it.

Somebody going to a war zone as a contractor is generally a war profiteer. It's high risk, high gain. Putting your own life at risk - potentially leaving your kids fatherless - for a quick buck? Sorry but no thanks.

But this is a country where women now predominantly wear the Burqa and where there is currently more Islamic violence than in almost any other country. It is a country where over 95% of the population practice the religion you hate. It is a country whose legal system stems from Sharia law. I'm sorry if I'm putting 2 and 2 together and getting four here. I'm sorry that if calling something a duck when it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.

PS Not very 'personal responsibility' there on the old 'they need some one to stand up for them until they are able to stand for themselves' front. Turning commie are we?

3. I volunteered to come here because I was asigned this project and it went to war. I was not going to bail out on my job and quit because this project came to Iraq. I follow this project.

ALL of my posts against Islam has been anti-terrorism posts, or anti Islam in western society posts. Western society and Islam does not mix. I have never ever made a post against Muslims. Again I know acknowledging that is harmful to your arguments against my beliefs but that is the truth.

I can see the difference, I just don't see the relevance given that it's the practice that matters, not the religion. Jewish people, who have an archaic and violent religion, eventually managed to integrate successfully into American society (not so well in Europe I grant you) - that should give us hope for the future.
