What older games are you thinking about running?
All the games I've played on XP I now play on Vista, and they all work perfectly.

If you are talking about like 16-bit games (I don't think they work on x64 natively) you can get an emulator for that.
Don't know - older - DOSBox even maybe... or just things like that Warhammer 40k strategy game (which name escapes me every time...)

I'm not even familiar with what you're talking about (seeing as DOS is plenty older than I am), but I can run a 10 year old game (Starcraft) fine, having to change: to 256 colors and a 640x480 resolution in Properties of the shortcut.

heroes of the pacific does not work on my vista 64 machine. but then again, i rarely played it anyway so i guess it doesn't really matter
