Recently ive been whoring the hell out of Tool. Cant get enough of 10,000 days or Lateralus (the albums as a whole - not just the songs!)... but im gona get bored eventually. So can you recommend me any music of similar style (prog rock?) / awesomeness?

Fill in the gap:

If you like Tool, then you gotta love ...........

All the other Tool albums, just as good as those two epic songs. Will keep you entertained.

What other sorta music you like? there is no one who comes close to Tool in that category really.

If you like Tool then you gotta like Biffy Clyro.

Scottish 3 piece, songs include 57, Saturday Superhouse, The Go Slow, Glitter and Trauma.

Check them out. They're positively

Similar music?  Since no one is similar to Tool, I'll just name music that makes me feel similarly when I hear them.

The Mars Volta
Muse
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Afghan Whigs

For pure enjoyment, check out Citizen Cope, G Love and Special Sauce, and Ben Harper

Get some of Armin van Buuren's "A State of Trance" songs - 2 hour mixes of non-stop trance music.

229 - 2005 Yearmix
281 - 2006 Yearmix
332 - 2007 Yearmix
362 - 2007 Summer Special

Those are the episode numbers. Each 2 hours, so that's 8 hours of music.

Armin van Buuren, much like DJ Tiesto, is a piece of shit! I can say this after seeing Tiesto @ Privilege, Ibiza. Everyone that genuinely likes dance/trance music hates these two pop douchebags, they're like the cheesy option that everyone is embarassed to admit listening to. And not very akin to Tool either .

I can vouch for The Mars Volta recommendation. Get their older albums though, the newer ones just piss around into pretentious wankery.

Well, you probably won't like them, but I'm in love with The Ataris. The lead singer, Kris Roe, is a master at writing lyrics, in my opinion. Each album gets more emotional after the next (Starts off all punk, then as it gets to the 4th, it starts calming down, until the 5th where it gets very deep), but they get written better and better by the song.

I only mention them because they're almost my favourite band

wtf mate? You another person who doesn't like something simply because it became popular? Gotta ditch everything the moment more than 5 people like it? Go cut your wrists some more.
