BF2S Forums just interested to know what people are using.. and the resolutions

Regarding the FOV: I don't think it is quite as it ought to be on widescreen monitors.  It's not as bad as some games, but I don't think it's perfect.  There was a thread on the widescreen gaming forums that showed three images -- one was 1600x1200 stretched, one was 'normal' 1920x1200 and the other was running a widescreen 'fixer' program that corrected the FOV to what it should be.  The difference between the last two pictures wasn't huge, but there was a difference.  The difference between the stretched 1600x1200 one was very noticeable, though.

I play on a 24" @ 1920 x 1200 nowadays.  Used to play on a 21" @ 1024 x 768.  God bless CRTs -- those were the days.

It stretches everything.
A regular crosshair at 1024x768 has a perfect 1:1 aspect ratio (right). Your crosshair, on the left is stretched.


If you can't see it, I can get a ruler.

That stretched minimap and crosshair is crap to me. Also, if you look at a round thing, like the tyre of a hummer, you'll notice that it's oval.

You tend to. And that still doesn't change the fact, nor strenghten your argument of the opposite, that everything gets stretched if you only apply a widescreen resolution.

17" monitor btw. I wonder if setting it to a higher resolution would actually gain me any benifits lol, I'm just so used to sniping on 800*600...

The point you made was that aimless doesn't know what he's talking about, and that everything is perfect, which it isn't. You still haven't admitted that you were wrong. If you would, for once, do that, it would save everyone a whole lot of trouble.

21" 4:3 1600x1200 at the moment, but I'm getting a 22" 1680x1050 widescreen samsung soon. This one is getting really blurry, Have to zoom web pages to be able to read the text. And unzoomable (is that a word?) programs are pain to use 'cos I can't see anything.
