I was inspired by GS's comment in the Muslim majority thread, so I figured... why not make a poll on it?

Personally, I prefer Hispanics. They're hard-working, Spanish is an easy language to learn (and Portuguese is only slightly harder), and they have hot women.

Of course, I'm not saying I would shun Muslims... I just have a lot less in common with most Islamic cultures.

What do you guys think?

There are certain cultural values involved that should have some bearing. I don't judge people by their race but by their culture.

Seeing as Hispanic literally equates to an entire continent with dozen different cultures and Islam crosses 2 continents and has two dozen different cultures i don't see your point. I see what you were trying to get at, but if you had thought about it more you would see that this is the sort of poll that certain other ignorant people (not mentioning names) would post.

Irrelevant. Especially since if I had to base races on my experience, white people tend to have the biggest assholes. Granted there are more to interact with around here, but still.

In my particular area, we have most of our crime coming from black people. Granted, I also know a lot of nice black people too.

I think people are confusing the difference between prejudice and racism.

I make certain assumptions about each culture I encounter that are based on personal experiences and research I've done. This is an ongoing process where my assumptions are revised through further experiences and knowledge. There is nothing wrong with critically analyzing cultures you encounter, and if certain patterns appear from your experience and knowledge, that is informed prejudice, not hateful racism.

I doubt white people commit the most crimes in my area relatively to be honest, I only mean that if I picked one person from every race, the white person has the greatest chance of just being a dick to me. Maybe that comes inherently from being in the majority, I don't know. What I do know is the decent amount of Muslims and the few Hispanics I have interacted with were/are all nice to me.

Indeed, but in the case of America, the primary culture that is significant is Mexican. South Asian Muslims comprise the largest single Islamic ethnicity in America, so this provides a Sunni/Pakistani/Indian focus for determining the finer points of Islam here.

In other words, rational assumptions can be made in how these proposed majorities would differ via culture.
