Du Shaozhong, vice-director of the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, told Xinhua: "Clouds and haze are not pollution. This kind of weather is a natural phenomenon. It has nothing to do with pollution."

The IOC's Olympic Games executive director, Gilbert Felli, added: "Most of the people see the fog, they say it's pollution. But we know here it's not pollution. It's mist, a fact of the nature."

I actually did.. it was a series (Planet in Peril?). They interviewed villagers about all the health problems they were having. It was pretty damn bad.

The only proplem with China getting the games is that it makes them seem like a responsible, worthwhile, nation and gives them a bit of credibility. If Sudan bribed enough officials I'm sure the IOC would give them the 2012 games.
