i have really nice setup but i know that some components are a little low tech or it needs more powerful stuff.
this is my system:
custom build:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad-Core, 2.4 Ghz (stock speed)
Mobo: Asus P5K-C Socket 775
RAM: OCZ (OCZ2N800SR2GK) DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz NVIDIA SLI-Ready 2x1GB
HDD: Western Digital Caviar 250GB SATAII 7200RPM 16MB Buffer
Video card: BFG 8800GTS 320MB
Sound card: Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio
Case: Antec 900 gamer case.
PSU: no brand name 500W
OS: windows xp pro 32bit

i'm starting to think of trying VISTA but i dont know which version. i'm going to buy it though.
also i want to buy a new video card, i might sell the one i have right now to my brother for 150Cnds or less
and if i buy a new video card i would need a good PSU.
if i do all that i might as well buy another pair of RAM.
i have money to buy all that but i want quality of products
so the list is this:
-New OS (which i would definitely buy)
-new PSU
-new video card
-RAM( not sure about this)

Your PC is awesome, but if you really feel like upgrading:

4GB ram (1066mhz?)
ATi HD4870X2

oh, and a new PSU.

Q6600 is fine from what I've heard.

New RAM.

This is the PSU I have now and it's really quiet.

Maybe upgrade your video card to a 4870

I would start with this:

vista home premium x64.  $110
ram - upgrade to 4gig.  (mushkin, ocz, corsair or other good brand)
cpu cooler:   tuniq tower or Thermalright ultra + scythe sff21f  then overclock to 3.2 <> 3.6.

then if you want more graphics power,  upgrade psu to 650+ and consider a newer card like a 4870

What the hell is SLI-Ready RAM? Silly shops and their words.

Definitely 4870. I have a 640 GTS and its... yeah get a 4870.

2GB should tide you over with XP for a while yet, but you'll want to get 4 if you're moving to Vista. Processor just needs a good overclockin'.

I believe there is some basically worthless option available on an SLI board if you have the stupid SLI ready ram, basically a gimmick
