THEY ARE REALLY JUST OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! So god damn annoiying with the new patch. Lets take a map like Iron Gator from BF2S, immiedatly as you take off in a god damn helo (esecially on the Mec side on IG) YOU ARE LOCKED ONTO AND ARE DEAD SHIT!!! And unless you start doing some crazy ass tricks and super barrel rolls and happen to either avoid or destory the AA within the evasion, you wont survive. I've tried this and its pretty good against the AA (especially on IG) is to shoot a TV missle at it and hope it will hit.

This frikken crap is on every map with planes and helos. I mean, total bs. You cant escape it.....you just cant. The missles will even pass you up and then quickly turn around and follow up on you.

Then you cant fly, me and my clan mate went 45 - 25 in a heli on Op Clan Sweep, if you know when to use flares, its ok.

Come on now 2 shots from an AA should take down any med size chopper, 3 shots a black hawk and the mec cargo chopper it's about time that you can actually have an affect on a chopper from the ground. It was bs before when your in a Tungsta before rarely could you bring down a healthy chopper or jet. Just an opinion of someone who lacks air skill.

Well, I'm sorry if I pissed some of you off but I've seen some fucking jets be blown to bits by an IGLA, single shot, and I don't beleive it could follow a jet that was doing fucking barrel rolls and fucking backflips.

It's easy to avoid AA just fly near an enemy's air asset. The missile will decide to go for the friendly instead, as DICE didn't fix that -_-

i love the new AA it's so fucking crazy i can be chased go over their airfied and they get kicked for negative points or team killing. and as long as u use ur flares at the right time they miss u (mostly) i am not the best pilot but can evade them and kick arse in a plane or heli, u just lack skill j/k just practise and u will be evading them like they arent even there. i expected my k/d in my plane and heli to go down, but they went up, well the plane did .

it adds realism when i was in a heli before the patch with a gunner we ownd the map, and would very rarely die.

things change shit happens get over it and practise.

I think the flares don't work at all anymore . I tried using them at all different times , waiting , hitting them as soon as I'm locked on and so forth . They simply just don't work for choppers at all . Although the AA needed to be "tweaked" I think the result of the new patch is just stupid . They took it waaaaay too far . It's like they bumped the accuracy up by 1000% . Too much if you ask me .

A quick fix is to leave the AA settings as is just have the AA only able to shoot one missle at a time . I think things would be a bit better .

I dunno . It's all appels and oranges with stuff like this . Never an inbetween . Full blast on one side to the other . Kind of like how they fixed the bunny hopping issue . Make everyone suffer for a few peoples actions .
It hought thoes days were over when I left the Army . Guess not .

Im going to say this from the opposite point of view to (hopefully) avoid being flamed.

Basically I saw a jet who was half way across the map but just within the draw distance, i locked on to him and immediately fired all of my missiles, he immediately pulled up and started to go into a loop while dropping flares. I watched the AA ignore the flares going right through them and continuing to follow the jet round the loop, each one hitting until he was destroyed. Normally I would wait till I was right behind him, wait for him to drop flares, wait until he had levelled out and THEN fire some of my missiles, however with the new AA I can now mindlessly fire without really thinking about anything.

I personally don't use aircraft at all, but I've used AA before to take out choppers.
I found it easy to semi-avoid the flares, by locking on and seeing if they fire flares as soon as the lockon occurs - Then I fire both rockets when the flares are gone. If they are waiting a bit longer, I fire one rocket, let them drop flares, and fire the second rocket so I at least get one hit on. Usually someone else manages to finish the job off for me soon after.

Flares still work. Just have to time it when you drop them so they do work properly.

Just fly by one of the enemie's friendly air assets when being chased by a missile. Chances are the missile will break and hit the friendly isntead. You survive and the AA guy gets a TK >.>

Exactly. Besides....AA has its sore spots too. I had 3 kills the other day (at the beginning of Kubra Dam) and when I looked at my score....it was -12! Stupid AA is not only deadly....but it TKs like a you know what! I, personally, am done with the AA crap.
