Hair spray works.
axe works weird, with my gun we used hairspray ran out then used axe, i would spray it into the chamber and it would never launch on the first ignite, always the second, very weird.

Careful if using starter fluid though, that's pretty much was it was meant to do... People have been building PVC spud cannons for years so I am sure its safe enough, but damn is that not what PVC is meant to do...
