Hi guys,
I'm having a strange lag.
30 seconds no problems-->2 seconds lag.
I can't relaly help it and I thought it was my internetmodem/router. (wireless!)

But, my bro. bought a new pc one week ago.
So what? Well... I installed bf2142....
zero lag.
Same router, same modem, and ZERO LAG?!
How the ...?
I mean, I got the maximum req's of bf2142,
3gb RAM, 8800GT (CoH edition), 3 GHZ processor...
and still, I get that strange lag!
It is the same as in games like guild wars, and call of duty 4...
all MP, SP runs perfectly. What is my problem?

All help appreciated.

It's more like connection interrupted.

Is your bro closer to the router? And is he on wireless as well?

I got the wired connection in our house. With my brother getting wireless. It seemed like a bad idea at first, but our router works so well, It hasn't caused any issues.

I would first try to release and renew your ip address.

if that doesnt fix it then I would unplug your router and cable modem for a few min.

if that doesnt work defrag your HDD

if that doesnt work make sure you have no spyware/viruses or unwanted/unneeded programs running in the background.

It sounds more like your connection speed can not handle the work load you are throwing at it, are you and your brother trying to use the same connection at the same time?

Ok first of all, I have no spyware or any virusses on my pc.

Secondl, I had this since I first got my pc
Third, my bro's pc is on the same floor as mine's...
Both wireless, only difference is that he has a
"trust SpeedShare Turbo Pro LAN Adapter" and I got the
Ralink RT2500 Wireless LAN Card"... do you know if this is my problem?

Does it lag when you play the games offline?

If it only lags online and your modem/internet connection is good, then it's either an software problem (firewall, OS, etc.) or a network card problem.

Get a wired connection or the same wireless card your brother has - that's what I would do.  I'm 95% sure it's your wireless, although the fact that your bro doesn't have problems is a little weird.  (I've had terrible experiences with wireless in the past so I moved my router upstairs)

I might try that.

I've already tried that. Thx
