Had the same problem a lot when I put my new 8800gt in my PC, most of the time its the fecking Graphics card drivers you on vista m8?

You might want to try getting a driver from http://www.omegadrivers.net/ and see how it goes.

yeah I know its gotta be the drivers i was stable with x1900xt. I tried radeon 8.7 and i got blue screen galore and a new areshole for my pc.

I am trying 8.5 at the moment and they seem to be a pile of shit too. I've never had a problem with drivers before.

i fookin fixed it. some random high defination audio controller mumbo jumbo that seem to have come with the card.

fark knows.

the 8.7 radeon drivers for the high definition audio controller that is part of the 4850 are fucked (its the realtek HDMI thing), you will get hardware interrupts which will consume 30-40% of your cpu processing.

Go into device manager to disable (right click device --> disable-->yes). See pic for instructions cos you're a computer dork.
