I played a couple rounds BF and a bit later I had a bluescreen.
I looked at my SpeedFan and saw that my GFXcard is runnin on 69° C.

a bit too hot for my taste.

BTW all fans are spinnin

The dust isn't the cause
I've opened my case and made it away.
Still hot (raising).

Thanks in advance for you help

So... 80+ on desktop is to much?
And 100+ in a game..?

(Nvidia 6800GT)

Would explain why I cannot play 3D at the moment...

Srs, were GPUs not always really hot and could live with it?

GPU's can usually handle more heat than a CPU can, but 100 is pretty hot for under load, mine is watercooled and never goes above 45.

I will have to take better care of my new one...

Is the original cooler/fan of the Sparkle 8800 GT any good?

Depending on the card, it'll handle temps up to 100-120C.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

put another fan in your case and make sure all your wires are bundled with zip ties and make as much room inside the case as possible for free flowing air to circulate.

maybe the card is defective?

I think you have a lot of shit in the way of the fans. Work on your wire management or better yet, buy a modular PSU.

What card is it? For most modern cards, that's normal.

My card runs at like 50C idle, 80C under load.

My XFX 7600GT used to run 50C idle and 70C when I was pushing it to eprform in game, with stock cooling, stock settings, etc.  Have you tried adjusting your fan speed manually?

AKA using RivaTuner

As for the max temp comment by Freezer, yes the cards can "handle" it, meaning they won't bork out on you.  But they can still create bluescreens well under maximum operating temps if you overclocked.  Is that the case?
