After over a year of searching for a job, this morning at 9:00 Sainsburys rang me up offering me the position of customer service asistant,

fucking yay!!!

12 hours a week, i still get to keep my social life, and it doesn't clash with college. got 3 induction days next week, dunno what they involve, (or what i got to wear for them).

Happy Days

I prefer to work a lot in the summer, like 50 or 60 hours per week, and then take school only at winter. I'm getting $8.75 per hour at my job this summer, makes up to around €500 per week.

What doing?

I do an absolute maximum of 20, usually about 15 though, @ $16.50

If you're over 22, the minimum they can pay you is £5.52

If you're under 22, you're shafted. Hardly seems fair, really.

Still, 12 hours a week? Way to go.

Me too. Now that they're not paying you they can pay me right? It's even better for me 'cause 12 pounds is about 36 NZ dollars.

I work for myself now running a few sites (although before that I used to work in a confectionery stand - it was nice for about a week)

Mhmm, me too (although Jen, 50% of yours should go to me for those services I allow you to perform)

Sorry to hear that, but do you not think you could have applied to Tesco / Asda / Lidl / Spar as well - I'm sure at least one would accept?
