Exactly how serious a crime is it? Hypothetically speaking, were some friends and I to kidnap another unsuspecting friend, throw him in a car and drive around a bit before depositing him somewhere; and the cops were to show up, how much jail time would we do? Assuming that we didn't get shot and the unsuspecting friend decided not to press charges.

This would be done in Holland, not the States so at least we can't go to Gitmo.

Humm, i don't quite know, but don't do shit like that is my best advice, even tho having your friend scared shitless would be funny, you might run into a lot of trouble, plus your friend might get fucked up emotionally for a while if he don't know its a joke right when you drop him.

Um... if you tell your friend, once he calls the cops, that you kidnapped him, he should be able to drop all charges...

Although Police don't take too keenly to pranks - wasting police time ( trust me, it's not worth it. They are incredibly grouchy )

He won't have any chance to call the police. We'll tell him by the time we drop him back at his house. We'll tell the guys that live in his block (it's at uni) as well so they don't call the police if they hear us.

EDIT: A friend of mine has just informed me that when he was at college they did the same thing, but got the guy to dig his own grave before driving off and leaving him. Rather lolworthy but I think that may be taking it a bit to far. I don't want to give the guy a heart attack.

Well as a person who did a really stupid prank in high school don't do it.
I got in so much trouble for running in the class wih two friend of mine dressed as bank robbers and with airsoft AK47 pointing the guns to our english teacher, a nice & funny guy, he laughed as soon as he recognized us but some of the kids in the class didn't. They ran straight to the headmaster....was a good laugh.

What if you hit a bump in the road and his head is smashed into the roof of the trunk?
What if he stabs one of you when you attempt to get him?
