So, due to epic lightning strikes (500 of them) my phone and internet line is dead. I have this fancy laptop with a sim card slot, which let's me surf the webs on 3.5G (or whatever you want to call this new Turbo 3G stuff.)

Is there a way I can "steal" the laptops internet and use it on my main PC?

bridge connection with an ethernet wire.

Hook it up from your Desktop to your laptop, then go in network connections, select both connections, and bridge them.

That.

Note that you won't be playing any games over 3G.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I did that, but I can't connect to the internet.

The PCs recognize eachother, and it says they're in the same network, but I can't connect to the internet.
