I need some HDMI wires for the ps3 obviously but there's a slight problem. I need a HDMI wire with a dvmi (male) connector on it. Is there such a thing ? My projector is about 5 years old but it doesn't support the connection I need that is why I need to go hdmi with a dvmi connection. Tvo does play HD fine. I just want to be able to play Blue ray movies on my home theater system I tried new eggs ps3 accessories page but they didn't have what I wanted. Thanks for helping in advance. Yes there is such a thing. But the problem is it will not carry any sound so you will have to have another sound out.

I got the wire working but it only does letterbox format. Is there a way that I can force it to use full screen ? I searched threw the BD settings and changed it manually but it only does letterbox. Right now Its at 1080i. It kinda defeats the purpose of having a projector if it only does letterbox format "Karma will be handed out if your help works."

Sorry about the bump but I really need help with this. I waited a while for me to have to do this.
By that, he means a black box above and below the picture.Jenspm wrote:
first of all, what is "letterbox format"?
And does your projector support 1080p?
Regular Hd channels like sports and such with hd are in full but I guess it's called split screen were it's black at the top and bottom. It's not really a huge deal but I would like to know how to change it to full screen. I do have the dvi to hdmi cable and my projector supports 1080p. On the projector's remote I tried changing the screen size on it and it wouldn't let me so I might be fucked.Jenspm wrote:
Then I don't see the problem with Letterbox? Movies are supposed to be like that_j5689_ wrote:
