As the title says. You have to build a full computer that can. It has to be able to play BF2/2142 on high. This is for a friend btw. Thats about all he has to spend. I can build him one but I want to see what you guys can come up with.

If you count with MIRs (Newegg apparently didn't), you end up well under $500, closer to $450, which makes the $500 also cover shipping.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

If you want to overclock it it seems alright.

EDIT: It seems kinda old so the prices might have dropped.
You can replace the video card with a 3850 and get a better HD.

the PSU won't its complete shit

I have it and the fan failed after a few monthes, and it almost asploded

luckily it's a 2 pin , and can be replaced like I replaced it

Freezer put together a nice one for me that came to about $450. Unfortunately I didn't have a monitor soo the monitor brought it up to like 700 Imma have to save summore.
