My mom brought home her work laptop today and said she had some IT guy work on it today to try and get it to print something at her workplace. She blames him for it not connecting to our home router as well, since it was working yesterday. She was pissed when IE7 gave her the 'Cannot display webpage' message and says her 'email' doesn't work. I suppose she means outlook but whatever. So anyways here on my desktop everything is just fine. I was playing America's Army a few minutes ago and now asking for help from you. So anyways the cable connection is just fine ethernet-wise but her laptop doesn't seem to want to connect. The image of a monitor in the bottom right icon tray reads Wireless Network Connection (WLCM)
Speed: 54 mgps (bullshit, obviously, but hey, my desktop says it's 100 mbps )
Signal Strength: Excellent
Status: Connected

Strange. Let's double click that icon. Packets sent 313: Packets received.....El numero cero.
Now why would it say it's connected?
"WLCM" has always been the network my mom has used, even though when my friend brought his wii over it was named 40e2 and had a 14 digit password on it, whereas in the list of connections "WLCM" is unsecured. I'm also receiving my neighbor's, which is passworded. Also, when I tried IE7's 'Diagnose Connection Problems" option it starts by checking for a connection, then asks whether it's ethernet or wireless after a while. After selecting wireless both neighbors' as well as "WLCM" and "40e2" appear. 40e2 comes back with nothing whereas WLCM will return a suggestion to unplug my router/modem, etc. I have the laptop here with me next to the desktop's monitor on the...well...desk.
Any help is appreciated (karmaz, of course)

My problem wasn't the same as yours....mine seemed to be connected but wasn't. Whereas you could talk to people on steam. But I suppose you'd warn me if at all doing this would be harmful so okay I'll try

Maximum wireless (g) speed is 54. Your computer is connected via ethernet, which is 100

Entered all of those lines and restarting her laptop now. What are we attempting to accomplish with these cmd lines?
