are the most annoying thing ever. i went camping and forgot to use sunscreen because i fail, now have the worst sunburn i've had possibly ever. and i burn easily

i've been coating my body with aloe gel and it feels nice but dies down after a while and then my front and back and shoulders go into a flaming pain from hell.

whats the best way to treat a sunburn/have you ever had a really really bad sunburn?

I very rarely, if ever, get burned. And I'm half scottish.

Only time I ever got badly burned was on a cruise in April of '07. My legs were so badly burned that when I was in St. Thomas on the beach - I could literally feel them frying. It was horrible.

Find the right doctor. My buddy got a really bad sunburn and got a Rx for some vicodin to help with the pain. Other than that just use the aloe and grin and bear it.

First Aid guidelines strongly oppose freezing cold water for any kind of burns, room temperated water is advised.

If it is really bad, looks like it is burnt deeply, the skin does not only peel on the upper layer but thicker - see a doctor. As well if the burns are large/good part of your body.
