No but seriously, maybe i could build on that, and its an SAS undercover unit, that gets caught and its about their experience being tortured and people negotiating for thei release. I could make TWO books out of that.

I'm on page 258 right now at 59,000 and a bit words, currently trying to do all the connecting parts, which is a real pain in the ass.
Also Serevent, I found that if you can take some real world things, events or so on, and then twist them slightly it can help you to create your plot more to your liking. A bit of an alternate reality. That's the real prob with trying to create a realistic type book based on real places and stuff as you're limited to stuff you can do unless you change parts of it.

I've just finished really something called "The SAS Story" about all the conflicts that the SAS have been part off post-second world war, and taking stories from the soldiers who served there. It was fucking fantastic, I'm not a big reader but this was something else it was clear that these SAS members had actually written about the conflicts that they'd had in Malaysia & Indonesia, Oman, The Falklands, Northern Island and the first Gulf War (it was written before the second gulf war), obviously the complexity and diversity of the english used wasn't as diverse as you'd see in a piece of fiction as they weren't writers, but it really was good. Things like this wouldn't work if it was made into a film as it would be blown up by Hollywood and it'd slowly creep further and further away from the truth.
