Tbh, seeing as how George Bush. Arguably the worst president the US has had in its history (and I'm not even talking about how W has been for the rest of the world), seeing as how he survived 8 years without getting assassinated. I don't think Obama will be assassinated.

Yes and very. He seems like too nice a character. Flawed yes, but there has not been a group of people he has demonised to the extent you could say that someone would feel the need to assassinate him. The Bush administration has rightly or wrongly demonised Islamists to an extent and we haven't seen any attempts on his life.

Very low. And I'll put my hand up and say that if Hilary is Vice President, who would be dumb enough to assassinate Obama only for her to step into the void?

sergeriver wrote:

The Democratic party. The support would be huge and from both sides of politics.

sergeriver wrote:

There would be chaos. Serious questions would have to be asked of the CIA and FBI as well as a string of other agencies abilities in defending the country and the politicians which serve it.

Not going to happen. The backlash would see a democratic president for the next few decades.

This isn't a popularity contest anyway.  GWB is one of the worst without doubt, unless Torquemada was a US president.

Was he the one who had those massive parties?

Some people (not me) think the first guy was the worst. Um, i seriously can't remember his name.

EDIT:- Wait, it was G. Washington, right?

Johnson, Nixon, Harding, Buchanan and others were a lot worse imo.

He was extremely racist.

...I would not be suprised if it happened if he chose Hillary as VP.  If he is smarter than that, I think he is pretty safe.  Granted, there are nutjobs on the right side as well as the left, so anything is possible.

Obama's successor would insitute massive crackdowns.  Depending on how popular Obama is at the time, we could see JFK assassination type furor, with an immediate rise in massive conspiacy theories.

Plus, he was the one that implemented the Indian Removal Act of 1930 which led to the Trail of Tears. Much worse than GWB. Much, much worse.

Remote.. If the Secret Service can keep Bush alive they get mad props from me.

Depends on how he ran the country

Almost everyone would be upset. Even if you disagree with a persons policy wanting them (sincerely) dead is a leap beyond normal rationality. I'm sure there are some on the lunatic fringe though.

no, there have been sooooo many bad presidents in the US. And by bad I mean cruel, cheating, unlawful presidents.

Bush is by all means not a great president. He's not good at running the country, but he did what he thought was good and right. Just unlucky that he was a terrible speaker and that his advisers fail.

Guys like Nixon, Andrew Johnson, Buchanan, Pierce, and more cheated (Nixon), supressed African Americans and Indians and stole from the government.

True, although at first he was a unionist and vice president to Abraham Lincoln. He was racist and a very insecure individual.

And if Obama was assassinated all hell would break lose tbh. I don't think anyone is crazy enough to do that type of thing in the United States today.
