Alright so I have an x1950pro PCIE card, old, still works, doesn't get hot at all, and I updated to the 8.7 drivers from I think maybe 8.4, not sure, and now I was playing TF2 and there were like artifacts coming off players extending to the very end/top/sides of the map, like a line or textur, the graphics card felt cool/warm/not hot at all

is this 8.7s fault?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I've got the same problem, same card. Have latest Cats. Get bits of purple snow during BF2 load up as well as crazy lines during play at times. Still plays though. Temps are 79+c I think? Just cleaned out dust too.

Seems like your card is overheating or on its way out...

I had the same "line" problem with my old 6800.  I solved it by downloading new drivers.  Just try random versions, maybe one of them will work properly.

my temps are extremely low, and I cleaned all the dust out not long ago at all, and I can tell if the card is too hot by feeling the case or feeling the air near the card, or feeling the card itsself inside the case, it doesn't overheat , or get burning hot

Im gonna have to say its the drivers if marley's getting em too with the same card and drivers.

BLAH

*no temp sensor on it so yea :p

im just gonna go back to 8.5 if I see this happen in any other of my games like gmod or AO

If it's artifacting on the 8.7 drivers and not the 8.4, go back to the 8.4. If it's still artifacting then it's definately a hardware problem.

My old X1950XT would artifact when it got full of dust and the temps hit 90*C. Cleaned it out, temps didn't go over 60*C, and all is well.
