The fuck man, seriously. What could ever convince someone to do this, its just plain messy. I was walking through towards a local park at about 8pm last night. Took a minor shortcut through the entrance foyer of a hotel.  As I came back through, It seemed that someone had launched themselves from the 28th floor of the building. Needless to say it was kerfuckingsplat. Massive hole in the glass, fragments of his skull and shit where everywhere. Brain splatter all around the glass in the foyer. Came back in the morning, smell was horrid. Pro's cleaning it up right now. The hotel manager let me gawk from the 2nd floor, where his body was. It was like a twisted metal bar, just above a balcony, followed by some massive splatter on the cement of the balcony, and then a shitload of blood on the floor below the area he impacted.

So, first dead person i've seen.

Don't feel like I think I should.. I wasn't sickened or anything.

Edit: its like 50 meters down the road from my local internet cafe. Needless to say, shitloads of gawking was done by all.

That's like something from a fucked up video game or something....you know that feeling? When you see something that feels like it's just there for you to see? Damn dude, wrong place, wrong time. You sure you aren't the least bit shook up about it?

If anything, I was curious as hell. Desensitization as a direct result of playing 15 hours of computer games a day?

see the sticky "suicide", maybe you won't understand, but you might sympathize a little more. (and no shortcuts, read it all) it's not always about you, your inconvenience is insignificant to the fact that someone was overwhelmed by their problem. ffs man have you no heart?

I have no sympathy for anyone who commits suicide anyway. Hotel managers have to get new glass, pay like $1500 for repairs and cleaning. Someones skull was shattered into pieces right outside their entrance. Wish they'd think about others to be honest. I empathise with his family at this time, but as for the guy.. pshh.

What guy?

Seeing it actually happen would probably have a more pronounced effect. In this instance to you it was just the remains of a splattered body but if you had seen him as a living human being who then became the remains of a splattered body it would probably have made more of an impact (excuse the pun).

One of my friends saw him fall, on of them lives in that hotel and they were all there. He pretty much flew right past their balcony window, and they're all about to go out to the local nightspot and shit. He hasn't said anything about it really but I think it shook him up a bit.

Nah there's always a different opinion. Some people sympathise with the person who had the problem, some people despise the people for thrusting their problem onto their immediate surroundings, and the people around them. P.S. I've read the entire thread (like a year ago)

I have very little sympathy towards suiciders as that act tends to be very selfish. They take into no account the effect it could have on their loved ones, land owners, peoples lives, jobs, etc. But, at the same time, I feel bad that they can't deal with what everyone else in the world can. My ex tried to commit suicide over another ex of hers. Thankfully I was able to stop her but I always thought of that act as being very selfish as it was done with regards toward herself and no one else and, again, she took into no account how it'd effect others.
