This is a rant mostly directed (but not limited to) at mitch's stupid thread in the BF2s section.

Why do you think you're going to die?

For some unknown reason i trust scientists running this project more than 15yr olds jumping on a "we're all gonna die" bandwagon.

So following posters: State why you think it's going to kill us all, or agree with me.

i have something similar near me (in the same town as me) at Brookhaven National Laboratory...and I think it's actually LONGER than the LHC.

We are not going to die. Anyone who's taken some physics beyond high school knows that high energy particles from two different stars can and do collide everyday in the universe.

You don't see us returning to a true vacuum state because we are already in the true vacuum.

I also get to win this argument, because if I am wrong (which I am clearly not), your brain won't be able to process your death before you are already dead.

It'd be an awesome way to die, though, ripped to pieces and compressed to a millionth of your size within a millisecond.
