I tried the demo and enjoyed it, but it certainly did get my heart racing. It's not really "my kind of game" though.Zimmer wrote:

Also, Bioshock isn't scary. It's good.
That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying Sam said CSS is harder than BC - which it's not.jord wrote:

there's no objectives...and the only objective there is only requires one or two people. blowing up a gold crate in BC requires a LOT of teamwork and cover.
The best games usually don't have objectives because objectives are fail and should only be an option. I'd rather just kill people like in all FPS's.
Typical thread takeover by Sam and Miggle. -sigh-
Not gonna lie, the demo got mine too...but see my above post. That's really the worst part in terms of it being "scary". You want REALLY scary, go for Dead Space.MadKatter wrote:

Besides, CSS is pretty hard seeing as how good people have had like 5 years to practice. I thought I was good but with new servers brings new surprises.
Well, the good news is this wasn't what I was expecting.
I was expecting "Go look in the other 5000 threads noob"
and... expecting to spend 150-$200.
But lookie here, I've got HL2, Portal, TF2 and (possibly) Silk Road for $40. I have an urge to get wii fit, even though I'm sure I'd get bored of it after 20-30 hours. Too bad I'm not out of shape, I'd totally get it now.
Edit: Anyone have an opinion on assassin's creed? It's singleplayer isn't it, about 50 hours of gameplay?

I'd say save your money, tbh (besides the OB that is). LOTS of NEW PC games are coming out soon. Fallout 3 (although it's on consoles too but you don't have one), Quantum of Solace looks decent, BIA: HH...etc.

took me probably 15 to 20 hours.
getting information gets very annoying though.
I'm not huge on buying the "new" games or the popular games, regardless of how good they are. I'm not a huge game nut and don't really spend much more that 100-200 a year on games. Just stick with one or two until they bore me out and then search for some new ones.
I did try wii fit (my friend's friend left it at his house - with her wii, wtf?) and I did like it. I'm pretty athletic by nature so getting more into shape is never a bad thing. I don't quite like the price tag though, I'd probably get it if it was only $50. Just like I enjoy guitar hero, but the $80 on a game seems like far too much.
Basically anything goal-oriented will keep me busy for a while.

SP games should last at least $1/hr.
Freelancer (if you can find it)
Divine Divinity
Silverfall (isn't that bad)
Overlord
MMO: Age of Conan
Quasi-MMO: Guild Wars
Alternative: Pick up a hobby like the piano.

There's about a dozen threads that list bargain games in other titles, a few of which I've also replied to. Check them out.

Orange Box, Day of Defeat Source, CSS, or, as someone else said, if you choose to grow balls, Bioshock.
Truth be told, I wish I had bought the Valve complete pack, I got virtually every game in it, for about 4 times the price.

The conduit for the wii is coming out soon you should check it out.
MMO: LOTR online- they have a free trial, see if ya like it, they have an expansion coming out for it as well.
RTS: Supreme Commander & Forged Alliance have great single player campaigns as well if your not into competitive ranked games.
The game I'm excited about is diablo 3 but it isn't due out till august 2009 though
Don't waste your time with guild wars... I was disappointed at least , but they don't have a monthly fee. When you play it you realize why.

Just buy shit loads of "sold out" games they are all old school games but they cost £5 each. You can get things like Thief2, deus ex, broken sword 2.
Occasionally their price spikes when availability becomes low. 'Emperor: Battle for Dune.'Vilham wrote:

Nah "sold out" is a publisher. They buy up the rights to print old games with the latest update applied.
