Long story short my computer crashed and I lost a lot of stuff including my iTunes.  I have all of my music and stuff back on my computer now and i still have my original music and videos on my ipod.  What I'm wondering is that if I sync my ipod to my new itunes, will it erase the contacts and notes I had on there?  If it will, is there any way I can save them to put back on my computer?

No, it will not erase your content. When you plug in your iPod, it will just put all the songs from your iPod into iTunes, and it will still keep your songs on your iPod.

Uh, no?  It won't take the songs from your iPod and put them on your iTunes, but it won't delete them unless you tell it to.

If you re-sync it to your new itunes, yes it will wipe your ipod.

Go on the net and download a program that will transfer your songs from your ipod to your computer

http://www.ipod-computer.com/ is one of them, but it only has a limited trail then you pay.

Edit: you have to go into your itunes settings and turn off auto sync

You should manually manage your music, not simply sync it.

Find the appropriate tix box and you shouldn't lose any of your data.

Google adds are a learning type, they take bits from your posts and such and derive adds that you might like.

That still loses my data.

And its not the songs or anything like that which I'm worried about, its my contacts and notes.  Will those programs actually copy that stuff back to my computer?

Well I decided to just go with it and sync to my computer and it ends up that your notes and contacts are not changed at all so its all good
