That's been the case before, but they usually just release a security update.Microsoft programmers are apparently aware of the exploit presentation at Black Hat, and are waiting to see the findings themselves.
This is a browser exploit, so looks like the browsers need to be upgraded and protection added through that access layer.
Surprised Vista can't prevent the attack though. lol
Oh no retire the OS and take it off the shelves because there's an exploit!
FYI: They were finding 'major' exploits and holes like this in XP even after Vista had been released, no OS is perfect and people will always be around trying to exploit it and find holes. Please go somewhere else with your 'Vista sux' tripe. Vista never had significant "problems" to get over in the first place, I think it was your 256MB SD-RAM machine with an AMD 3000+ that needed to 'get over' things in order to step up to the latest platform.

you know what i never get why ppl post their vista grips when this is a forum based on video gaming and since vista is almost the way to go for gaming I really think that people who have xp are impatient since updates for the xp aren't gonna come as often and if vista is indeed inferior its is only inferior at some things and shouldn't be categorize as in vista needs to be taken off shelf like uzique says there is no such thing as a perfect OS.
It uses something in the way OSes talk with web browsers and sounds like its farther reaching then just Vista.And apparently this exploit is so broad and game changing that it could be applied to other platforms. OS X, beware?
If anything kills vista it will be stupid consumers paying too much attention to mac commercials talking generically about all of vistas "problems" (that it apparently may be susceptible too as well)
