nView transparency was infinitely more useful, and why in gods name are you using the Vista basic theme? Have some dignity and turn the Aero on.
How do you know Aero is not on?
Erm the ugly as fuck blue window border instead of the dark grey transparent one.

No, you're not, it looks jack all like that you're on the basic theme, which is default in everything up to Home Premium (never installed Ultimate so can't say that's the same, probably is knowing MS).

If it were Aero you'd be able to see though your window borders without some oddball piece of software.

EDIT: Just to check you are on Home Premium or higer aren't you?

Whenever I start a game, my windows default to Vista Basic colour scheme, then back to Aero upon exit, how do I stop this?

I guess they are about the same level, but I could see through the borders even before I found this app ... anyway, what is really annoying me is a blue pixel outline (no idea what it is) around most windows which I just can't seem to get rid of. I have managed to faint it down a bit but still:

Edit:
This is a bit better ... but still there sadly

You described it as "handy" though in the first post, kyle. I can't see how it is anything but a purely aesthetic application.

Yeh that's a bit weird, I can't remember seeing that on my brothers PC.

On a side note can anyone find nView as a solo download for 8 series cards? I use it at work on a low end 7 series but it didn't come with my current drivers The transparency thing on that is really handy.

I'm normally switching to other windows to see what is in them but now I can look through and see, which can be really handy. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed and those who aren't interested in transparency ... well this would just be another boring program

Reason I like nView's transparency more is simply because it's off until you want it, you just click and hold the button down and the window goes transparent, I use it for referencing documents I'm working from without having to minimise the one I'm typing in.

Can you adjust the level easily and retain window settings? If so, can you get it even if you use an ATi chipset? If so, link me!

I don't get why you need to see through things...

You can adjust the ammount of transparency, beyond that it just applies itself to whatever window you click on.

No idea if it'll work on ATi stuff, it came bundled with the 6200LE in my work PC, never seen it again since
