Going for my G1 license (learners permit, whatever you call it)

I've been lazy for the last 5 months (turned 16 in Oct) and I'm finally going for my G1 tomorrow. Are there any other Canadians here from Ontario that've taken it yet? Is it all multiple choice?

Thats odd mine was 40. 20 for road signs and 20 for the other stuff.

I'm pretty sure it's about 40 questions. Well, I know there were a lot of questions on the one I took.

If it's anything like the one I took, you'll pass it easily. Because the DMVs here always have a monstrous wait time, I just took one of the handbooks and read through it during the wait - studying made easy lol.

its easy. i took it last august. its 2 quiz's, the first being a 20 multiple choice questions on signs of the road, which is very straight forward because they show you the signs and most of them give it away. second one is 20 multiple choice questions on rules of the road, which can get kinda hard because of wording sometimes. You fail if you get more than 4 questions wrong on either quiz.

Don't worry though, its easy stuff. g2 is where all the cool kids are at tho

Yep I took mine 2 years ago

And hes right, 2 quizzes out of 20 each. One on signs (really easy) and the other on rules of the road (which you really need to read about 3 times each but since theres no time limit that I remember take your time). And again, if you get 15 or less on either quiz you fail the entire thing. I found it really, really easy though, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I honestly don't remember. I'm pretty sure it was just situations where if you just thought about it and logiced (?) out the situation for one of the answers. I remember a few situations where you had to remember distances from something (for example distance between your car and the car in front of you on a highway). I'd recommend going early or midday if you're really unsure so you can retake the test right away if you fail (but thats really unlikely)

Indeed, the two-part thing is right. The first one is amazingly easy, and you won't have any trouble. It's just signs, which you should know anyways. The second part, about the rules, can either be really easy, as some people get it, or really hard, as I got it. Just make sure you know the alcohol-related rules, the distances you have to park from fire hydrants, school buses' distance, etc...and a few demerit point thingies as well.
Overall though, you'll have no problem. Now go get your G2 and pay me a visit, hmm? Smith's Falls is about .5 hours from ottawa.

I aced the signs part. I got 3 wrong on the rules of the road half. No questions about parking/stopping distances.
