I finally was going to put together my new rig & when I went to put all the pieces in the cart, I noticed that the ASUS 4870 video card isn't available anymore on Newegg?  Does anyone have another 4870 video card suggestion?  Sapphire?  Or is it still there, and I just can't find it?  Thank you.

No it's not there.  It seems to appear and disappear randomly (most probably because of supply).  AFAIK, all the other brands are fine because they're all based off the reference model by ATi.  So I would just buy the cheapest one.

I don't think theres any difference between the different brands, save for the art on the cooler and the software package.

I have the Sapphire branded one, go with that if the Asus one has been discontinued.

Sapphire is kind of the EVGA for ATI.

EVGA is one of the best Nvidia brands. Great Customer service, awesome warranty. Not sure if sapphire has the same, but its the cover name for the fab company who makes ATI boards.

Heh. Sapphire is the same company as Zotac is for nvidia. I see Sapphire rated much better than Zotac though.

I just bought a visiontek 4870 and so far its a great card.  I've only had it for a few days though so I can't tell you anything about customer service or whatnot.
