I still have both my original PS2 and the mini-PS2 I bought for my 'gaming' PC room. Both still have their classics that must be revisited every now and again . I definitely think that the 'last' generation of consoles had/will have a longer lifespan than the newer 360/PS3/Wii. Only because technology races forward at such a lightning speed nowadays, as does consumers willingness to purchase electronic goods and consoles. Back in the PS2 / N64 era people were more interested in a console they could use for a solid 5 years!

I wouldn't say its awful. Hard to develop for yes (Sony need to stop with the propriety hardware. Seriously), but devs get good results if they put the time in.
I think its far more likely that PS2 games are made because of the huge install base and because its a lot cheaper.

Developers find it hard to code for. Blu-rays storage capacity goes nearly unused and has a poor read speed (hence installing games). High price tag and one good exclusive title. The PS2 was hard to develop for but because it got good exclusives (like GTA3) people bought it which encouraged developers to make more games for it.
Yeah i'm still not at all convinced about Blu-Ray.
I think it looks ok. Sleek and black. Not a fan of its curviness though. The 360 has concave curves making it look thin. The PS3 has the opposite, making it look fat. It's a bit huge.sergeriver wrote:
