I'd say that'd make a pretty good drive in movie theatre.

Or set it up, invite some friends round for a evening of movies and then decide what you'd rather have, the money or awesome film screenings.Mint Sauce wrote:

^^^False. I love watching tv threw projection and playing 360/ps3 on it. One of the best things you can get for a home theater system. Keep itMutantsteak wrote:

There are two points of doubt for me:Bertster7 wrote:

Keep it, obviously. I love my projector. Best way of watching films by miles and miles (short of being in the cinema). The only drawback is that you'll find yourself very disappointed with other screens afterwards. Watching films on 40-50" TVs really doesn't cut it for me any more - they're just too small.
It's not hard to squeeze at least a 60-70" screen into a normal house, I have a 110" screen in mine and mine isn't exactly big (the house (or rather the room it's in) I mean). Also the whole projection feel and watching films in darkened rooms gives everything a more cinematic feel.

lel, not gonna get an awesome projector for under 1000€. If I sell it, I'm probably not gonna get another one. Some 30-40" TV, if anything at all, as I already have a nice 24" HD screen. Nice plan, though.']['error.V2 wrote:
lol freezer. The projector is awesome, but you cant use it's full potentional. So here's the plan:
1. Sell projector for 2800 euro
2. Buy a less capable projector for around 400 euro (yes you can get a good projector for that money, only less capable for much inches, but still more than enough for your room/in the house).
3. Buy whatever hardware shit you desire with a maximum budget of 1400-1800 euro(sell old PC, buy new one with money from old PC + beamer money)
4. But the around 1000 on your bank account, seriously, save it.
now you have: Awesome projector for in your room, an awesome PC and a 1000 euro on the bank!
That's how I would do it.
Then no projector and more money on the bank. Yeah get an 40" LCD tv instead then.Freezer7Pro wrote:

You can easily get a good quality 720p rated projector with good colour for well under €1000. Probably half that. Budget movie and gaming projectors start from around £120.Freezer7Pro wrote:

Yeah, there are those, but I'm spoiled with 1920*1xx0 resolutions. 1280x720 is lower than the already low res of my 15.4" laptop, and I can't even imagine the pixel size in a 70" format, not to mention the limited workspace.Bertster7 wrote:

So you don't have things like this available?Freezer7Pro wrote:

Plus, the cheapest projector available here is for 400€, and it does 800x600. About the same for most within any reasonable price class.
There is one available, similar in specs and slightly more expensive, around 800€. That is an option, but I'd prefer something like this, for a couple hundred more, as my room is so small, that actually spending money on a projector really isn't a really "comfortable" option.Bertster7 wrote:

(I have no idea what the quality of that particular projector is like, but it's in a similar price range to mine and looks of similar specs - but specs don't tell the whole story, you should always check reviews with any sort of display).
In any case, when it comes to projectors, colour quality is much, much more important than resolution. You don't need super high resolutions, they're unnecessary, nice, but not essential for high quality viewing.
