Yes, they are basically necessary for admission, but they aren't end of the year, aren't in a specific subject (and just test general skills, not knowledge), and are retakeable. AP tests influence college credit, not admissions, but are like A-levels in that they are in subjects, are near the end of the year, and can usually not be retaken...teddy..jimmy wrote:

You can normally check them from about 7:00 in the morning onwards from the UCAS website, just for the impatient ones that can't wait to get into school and open the envelope .

These are AP exam equivalents. AP exams give college credit at nub colleges, but taking AP courses/doing well on your AP exams is paramount to getting into good colleges.
