Well PC gaming doesn't require you to break the bank, if you get the right stuff from the right place you can get a very strong computer for $700, and since you're going to need a PC for work and stuff anyway why not spend a bit more on making the PC able to play games?

Well the reason for that is that you need to assemble a PC yourself if you don't want to overpay for it, and very many people are uncomfortable with fucking around with the insides of their PC, even though it is actually simple and not complicated if you take 30 minutes to learn and easy to do if you have a screw-driver and flash-light.

Yeah every 5 years works for me, barely this time as my old p4 2.53 is showing its age. Luckily I have all the parts coming in for my quad this weekend. Im excited lol!

Consoles will never dominate the game market, it's a PC world. Consoles are just the icing on the cake imo.

The funny thing is, my Steam games list (mostly TF2) interest me far more than my 360+games. I think I just prefer the PC 'style' than consoles nowadays.

Console is an economy PC, so no. If they ever start releasing major hardware upgrades for consoles like CPUs and GPUs, then they will stop calling them consoles and start calling them PCs.

I could care less about most of the exclusive titles for console. Most of the decent ones get multi-platform releases anyway and end up on PC with better graphics, more content, and free patches.

I think this is the dumbest topic you've started so far in the PS3 / console-based fanboyism

PC's pre-dated consoles, and whenever a 'new generation' of consoles are released they stay on top of the PC equivalent for 2 years and nothing more. PC's can do more, they can do it faster, and they're much more versatile. In my opinion consoles are only good for racing and sports games... and that's not to say PC doesn't have great titles of their own in those categories. Consoles do have their niché as being good for socialising and parties but from a gaming-sense PC's are far superior and in a league of their own.

I think consoles are developing and heading more in the direction of home-entertainment systems anyway, not as serious gaming platforms that will rival PC's. PC's will maintain their gaming supremacy and the console will slowly turn more and more into a living-room centrepiece that runs all of the TV, DVD, Hi-fi and gaming needs of the owner.

It will survive, but piracy is a major factor why companies go towards console releases. If they find a way to keep piracy minimal, they have won.

I know a games developer, and I asked him why doesnt his company make games on PC. He replied saying that they would LOVE to make games on PC, as it allows more work and things dont have to cut down, but piracy issues really spook the executives.

IMO as much as we all love piracy, its killing what we love, PC gaming.

IMO as much as we all love piracy, its killing what we love, PC gaming.

It is even easier to use pirated software on consoles. Unlike PC, where people have to at least get crack or image every patch it is released, in console, as long as you crack the code once, every pirated software is easily used.

Go to Hong Kong, or China (they are same country but whatever) and see how the pirated consoles are doing. It is selling better than PC.

Well you can't play online with pirated PC games anyway, except on cracked servers which are glitchy, laggy, full of hackers and not running the most advanced patch.

I seriously wish that somebody would make a hardcore flightsim for the ps3. As of right now, my ps3 has more capable hardware than my pc and it would just be easier (for me). It's not like controls would have to be dumbed down as i would just map them onto my HOTAS. Until then, I guess only my aging pc will only see the skies.
