i decided to play bf2 for fun just now. and half the fun is talking with my fellow squad members. well, my voip wont work. i push my voice key and nothing. i can talk in vent, but when i hit my push to talk key for bf2 nothing happens, i dont even get the microphone light signaling im hitting the key.

need help, bf2 without voip gets old after about 30 minutes.

Change the key in your settings, then change in back to "B" and see if it works. If not, go into your BF2 audio settings and check that everything is normal, then check that the server is actually VOIP enabled, that might be your problem?

I have this problem too, and I've made sure EVERYTHING is working and the server has VOIP. Can anyone fix this???

Mint is right, if you don't see the green symbol in game check that VoiP is enabled and try rebinding the push-to-talk key.

voip is enabled. i havent tried rebinding to B, but i did bind it to other keys, all of which failed.

Have you tried it on different servers? It could be a server side problem. A buddy of mine and I were setting up a server a while ago, and VOIP was enabled, but the sound did not work at all. We had to contact the server company and put in a ticket for them to fix it.

So try other servers and see if the problem still stands. If not, then let the server admin know about the problem and see if they can get it fixed.

its not server side, other people are talking in the squad.

There has to be something wrong in the audio area of your bf2 then, check all the settings on the options page are ok and relate to your pc.
As a radical solution, i would say re-install, if it matters that much

voip lol..i always leave the squad when people are talking
cant listen to those 15 year olds annoying voices seriously

but anyway..yeah try reinstalling
cant think of something else right now

rebinding it to B worked

now i can make my voip only squad and yell at people to follow my orders.

I would say make sure that the right audio device for you computer is selected. I know I had the problem one time.

Yeah, I hate listening to squeakers in the squad. Just gives me a headache.
