Right now, I am running BF2 just fine on windows XP, with a Pentium 4, 3.0 GHz, 1 GB RAM, and a Radeon X-800 Pro. But I was wondering if BF2 would actually run on Vista, with a dual or quad-core system, using the latest graphics cards such as the GeForce 9800 GTX, or the GeForce GTX 280. I read on the back of the BF2 CD case that it will ONLY run on single-core processors, and up to the Radeon X-1000 series. Are the most powerful systems that you can get today reverse-compatible with older games such as BF2? And what about BF2142, would it work on that? And will the game look alot better on a Nvidia GeForce GTX-280 than it would on an ATI Radeon X-800 Pro?

I was running bf2 fine with an 8800gtx, q6600 on vista. I switched back to xp because its way better than vista..less glitches for games and shit.

My GFX card, however, ranks somewhere between a simian and hog shit. I get about 28-30 FPS in BF2 on HIGH...hopefully I can pick up an 8800GT soon.
