to the OP,  pay attention to when it crashes.

IF it's right after a revive, picking up a kit, or choosing a kit after you die it's the  BF2 program.

THe best ways to guarantee crashing BF2, is to change kits in the menu RIGHT before you re-spawn,  when the timer hits zero and you switch the kit, you will likely crash the game.  Or, getting revived, while your corpse lies on a different kit bag, and you revive as a different kit.

Or, plainly picking up a different kit bag  can crash the game.

That is the most common ways my game crashes.

OR, loading client data for a new map.

OR, Getting into a jet/attack chopper sometimes crashes the game for me.


Those are the common ones.
