seagate's pretty decent, i had one fail on me but i've been running 2 250GB barracudas for about 3 years.  the RMA process was very good.

Has anyone ever tried window cleaner (eg Windex)? I was thinking about trying it when I had no isopropanol, but never did. I thought it would probably get the paste off, but I wasn't sure if it would damage the processor. It would be handy to know since most people have window cleaner at home.

I clean the bastard with a paper towel + whatever alcohol I have close by, E.g. aftershave. There's nothing quite like the scent of Hugo Boss in your X2. You'd need to be a complete yokel to damage an AMD.

Don't use any type of cleaner, such as window cleaner, multi-purpose cleaners, whatever. Use Isopropyl Alcohol, pure acetone, or the cleaning stuff from Arctic Silver/other companies.

Anything else will leave residue and fuck the whole purpose or thermal grease up.
