I know the new gigabyte one can hold 16gb
Hows that? 16GB? I think there are still only 2GB sticks or are there 4GB sticks out already? Looks like it can hold 12Gbs.

Give or take it's DDR2, but it shows that 4GB on one stick is quite possible.

I didn't say its not possible I just haven't seen any yet. That would make the total memory capabilities 16GBs.

Why any computer (unless they were running an extreme program) would need 16gb of RAM in the first place boggles my mind.

I'm good with 2gb, and I'm on Vista.

I have no idea either. But I know some people on some OC forums who use 8GBs and they say all is used.

I think he meant 4GB DDR3 sticks.

I hope these all go well, cos when I upgrade in December, I'll be looking out for these...

Yeah I am not a big fan of the yellow at the bottom, it depends on what they do with the heatsinks.

Ye I don't like that either. Cooling design isn't made yet so we will need to wait a bit for final looks and specs.

Dude just 7 years ago my computer came with 128Mb of RAM. We're on 15 times that now.

EDIT: And that's just for 2 gigs.

1GB was very decent for 2004, but 2005 and BF2 killed that nicely.

Gigabyte EX58-Extreme Pictured in all its Might

Members of the XtremeSystems forums put up pictures of Gigabyte's flagship X58 motherboard for the upcoming Core i7 processors, the EX58-Extreme with all its bells and whistles in place. Pictures of the board have surfaced several times now, older pictures were those of the EX58-DQ6 and DS4 models. What can be seen from the pictures, is a humongous chipset cooler that attaches itself to the main northbridge heatsink. The cooling continues over the board's VRM area and a large block covers the ICH10R southbridge. As the label screams, the motherboard is based on the Ultra Durable 3 PCB construction for best stability, heat dissipation and EMI control. Clearly, if you're going to be in the market for an enthusiast-grade motherboard, you're going to have a tough time...choosing. I'll leave you with the pictures.
