K I got a call today asking if I was still interested after putting my name down for a job as a waiter in a cafe hundred yards down my road.

And she said I could have an interview tomorrow at quarter to five.

So now I'm shizzing it, this is my first ever interview, what's it like, gives some tips, etc.

Additional Information

At present I am studying for 5 Highers with a view of going to Edinburgh University to pursue my career as a P.E teacher.

Now that I am 16 I would like to engage in some part-time employment to gain experience of the working environment for example working as part of a team and working with the public. I have a pleasant personality and I am hard working, punctual, trustworthy and sociable.

I enjoy being a team player but I can also use my own initiative. I feel that I would be a valuable addition to your business.

Come decently dressed (polo shirt, jeans or better, good shoes) and be polite. Works every time
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Was going to go in a casual shirt with my school trousers. Shirt has kinda brownish pattern on it, idk how to describe it. I'm usually polite anyway, so that shouldn't be too bad.

Anything else?

The CV looks a lot better, it isn't displayed like that, but I cba coding it all into a table.

Tell her it's your first, be honest ... they like honesty

Be there on time ... not 30 minutes early and atleast not late

Be confident, don't be overconfident ... that will only look cocky, hold your hands calm ... i always look at their hands when doing an interview

A good sign will be when she seeks eye contact, if she does it means she likes you ... and don't stare at her waiting for that, and don't stare at her in general ...

Any job you hold is a step towards the job you really want later, mess up a job and it's a stain on your record

Good luck
Wait behind the line ..............................................................

If you really want this job, do what i did and suggest a 7-day trial period, it makes them see that you are really up for it and motivated to do the work.

For dressing wise, wear some smart trousers and a shirt with smart shoes.

I applied again for the same job today, so I hope it get it.
Can I just wear a t-shirt (all mine have logos on them), jeans, and my good shoes (dark blue skate shoes) to the interview?

Chill lax what most people are looking for in a waiter is someone that is not socially retarded, a nice smile, extrovert and a duty for good service. Be friendly polite think about what you say just don't be going "errrrrm" in the interview.

Just go talk to the guy and show them you are a reasonable person. Its not like your interviewing for a major job here... Shorts may be a bad idea but just look presentable and be prepared with some kinda answer for questions like "Why do you want to work here" and "What do you see your self doing in 5 years"
