Anybody own it yet? Is it any good? The reviews in mags n shite seem to be pretty positive.

The creature creator was fun for about a week. The fun will come back when I'm able to actually see the parts I chose in use, such as killing other noobs creatures.

I really want it, I just don't know if I'll have enough money. There's 2 other games in September that I want ahead of this (NHL '09 and Star Wars: TFU). Maybe if I get a raise at work I will, but I also want Rock Band 2. So we'll see.
It looks interesting... I dunno that I will get it, I generally don't like RTS. It does look interesting though, and not much like a typical RTS...
I'd love it if there was actually a multiplayer aspect, where you could visit other worlds and interact with other players.
Maybe form an alliance and take over planets, solar systems, galaxies.
But what is on offer is new and looks pretty good.

The other worlds are populated by other players creations, not by other players themselves. Controlling the other creatures is all dealt with by the game code.

You dont need the creature creator, that was a dumb little program that they released so people could get a feel for the game and have alot of monsters populating the world before it was released. You can just buy the game and youre set to make you dumb penis thingsPoseidon wrote:

Also, i have no idea what Spore is really about, i hear like, you make a creature and it multiplies and can evolve and stuff, like a biological version of The Sims or am i way off?
you start in the "soup" where it all began, have to survive, eat stuff, upgrade your creature, all sorts of stuff, then you get onto land, form your creature anyway you want, dodge other peoples creatures, make weapons for your creature, go into tribal face, makes vehicles and in the process everything you can upgrade and make it they way you like it...Acreta wrote:

all the way till space stage... conquering other worlds... it's single player but the server loads stuff into your world that other people have created (creatures etc..)
