Today I heard an incredible amount of jet noise outside and looked out over downtown Kansas City, only to see a group of planes doing performance maneuvers at low altitude (under 1000 feet).
There were around 6 of them I think, and I believe they were F-18s...I know there's an airshow in a few days - the Kansas City Aviation Expo - and it's website lists the US Navy F-18E/F Hornet Demonstration Team and the United States Airforce Thunderbird Demonstration Team (which flies F-16s) as feature performers.
Has anyone ever seen these guys in action? I've never been to an airshow before, and what I saw the jets doing today was both impressive and exhilarating - it definitely made watching an Olympic event seem boring.
I'm wondering if the airshow is worth: $12/ticket for standing room or $35/ticket for seats??
I could probably see some of it just by looking off my deck, but I don't really know how much I could catch...
