The funny thing about all this is that this is representative of how things started out with illegal immigration. People would sneak in and then go back to Mexico, because most of the work was seasonal, like agriculture. When border security started tightening up (and yes, it used to be practically nonexistent), then people got stuck here and didn't go back in the offseason.

So, ironically, border security actually encouraged the current trend of illegals starting communities here, because it was worth getting stuck in America rather than being stuck in Mexico. Now that the economy is ailing, these people are trying hard to sneak back.
