ok. here. they rip these kids away from their parents at a very very young age and put them in olympic camps. this isnt like normal sports for kids like we have in the US or UK. some of these kids dont see their parents for years. they raise them to be olympic athletes. it is to their advantage to get them out there as soon as possible. the older you get, the more injuries can occur. so, imo it IS an advantage.jord wrote:

Whilst the advantage of being pre pubescent is good for China, there is also the disadvantage of lack of experiance. It isn't like because a 10 year old girl competes that she's miles above you competition and there's no stopping her. She has drawbacks, like the 20 year olds do. It's just a case of whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, which maybe they do.
Morales and not seeing family aside because it's not relevant. They are still kids, they don't have the benefit of years of experiance that others do. They might not know all the "moves" that older athletes know. I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert though, maybe the kids have a 20% advantage over the others... I wouldn't like to call it.usmarine wrote:

yes they do. that is ALL they do. they dont have normal lives like we do. they train, train, and train. and if they do good, they get a phone call back home.jord wrote:

I don't know much about how Chinese athletes live so I won't debate that that's how they train. I'm sure they have some sort of enjoyment out of life though, otherwise the suicide rate would be higher than prison.usmarine wrote:

i saw their regiment on tv. kmarion and some others saw it to. it was sick. for most kids, they go to school and then play some sports or something. these kids have one priority starting at 4 years old. olympics. you need to use them while they are young because as they get older, they get smarter and more rebellious.jord wrote:

As marine said, they've got plenty of experience. They're put into camps and train constantly.
The reason Shawn Johnson is as good as she is is because she was blessed with a small frame. Not because she's young, but because she's naturally smaller.
I used the same insult you did. You have no room to complain.Poseidon wrote:
