Kind of funny, how some people react differently. For instance, I'm 6'2", 145 lbs, but I have eaten at McD's for one week non-stop and gained 2lb. My mate will eat 1 regular hamburger, gain 5 pounds. he's 5'11", about 240 lbs.
But this woman, she defies logic. I guess the "half-ton" moniker is a good one--it really goes to show the extent of the problem, which is not in fact fast food, but our lazy, complacent attitude towards fast food. The drive-thru was invented to serve this mindset, namely the less you move, the better. And suburbia has never helped. Sure, the past 10 years have seen a spike in exercise, health foods, whatever, but the core of the problem is the car-based, suburbian lifestyle we lead. The repercussions on healthcare programs is huge; it costs a lot of money for transport and eventually heart surgery/kidney dialysis/liposuction. Also, now airlines are forced to make bigger seats, meaning that we, the skinny ones, pay premium for fatty next to us. And don't even get me started on buses.
In France, if you weigh more than 120 kg you're fat. You're a disgrace to yourself. End of story. That's why there are so few fat people in public there.
I like pie.
