and there is something weird at those benches, it gets 13k points at cinebench 10 32bit at 2.9GHz, but at 3.2 GHz it gets 45k

High end = LGA 1366. I don't believe you can overclock with LGA1166.

How will this affect gaming? I mean, would going out and replacing a current gen E8/Q9 + DDR2 system with a Nehalem + DDR3 system give a sufficient in-game performance boost to justify the cost?

No. the L3 in the Nehalems won't do good for games, as it's so slow, and the L2 is so small. If they release a model with 2-4MB L2 on top of the slow L3, it'll be a winner.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
