Do people play under Low or High on video settings? i know that if i turn mine up the graphics are the best but it laggs up my gameplay and my video card is set to optimal performance or w/e, should i play as low or what should i have high and medium and low in my video settings?
well its a bit hard to say if you dont tell us what hardware you have.
personally i play with everything low and off, thats by choice as it is much better for sniping.

i dplay on medium w/ medium textures and other stuff on low/med, would even out ping so you dont lag too bad
I normally have everything on medium even though I can handle high but the fps goes way down.

Its the video card that is causing the problems.
I run everything on absolutely minimum, but at a high res, even though my PC can handle it at high/medium most of the time. You'd be suprised how much everything can slow right down on say Sharqi Peninsula with 40-50 odd people in a close proximity around construction site.
I also find low advanced settings aid gameplay, and have in every other game. Q3 + HL/CS etc.

Dude thats not a high resolution. "High resolution" is 1600x1200 or higher. Youre also one of those jerks who plays without shadows so you can see people hiding. Nice.

But for now, just play @ 1024x768 with all low or off until you have the money for a new GPU
I consider 1280x1024 to be a high resolution, as anyone who owns a monitor under a 21" (Not going back to CRT's) is maxed at it.mpsmith wrote:

Yes, I'm a jerk for running bare minimum graphics entirely for the reason of being able to see people in shadows. Theres nothing stopping you from doing the same, and with that being said, it's also not the main reason why I do it, as I mentioned, I have FPS problems in certain areas (only running a 6600GT).
