Because McCain doesn't care about who is best for the country, he just wants elected. McCain is a Politician that has sold out his country over and over, he is no conservative and will fail to become President.

Just wait and see.  So what do you Republicans think about him picking a Democrap for VP.  Rush was right on about this guy, what a fucking sell out to be in the conservative party.  This would be like Newt being a Democrap.

LOL, Republicans fail.

How would he do what's best for your country if he couldn't get into office in the first place?

So once in he will do what's in America's best interest, just like he did after being elected in Arizona.  I wanna smoke some of that.

I have always liked the Jewish short guy.

But, aside from that, the parties have become blurred to the point that they are one massive behemoth, needing a tranquilizer.

Haven't smoked for weeks DCB. Just wondering how someone who actually is doing what's best for your country (If there is such a politician) then how would he compete against the real politicians to get office?

You need to play dirty in order to obtain what you can use to play nicely.

So if this were to happen, would it be fair to say that the Republican party would not have a candidate in this election?

What's the chance of him winning with Liebermann? Better or worse than with say, Romney?

If McCain picks Lieberman, he'll probably lose big time.  It would make much more sense for him to pick Romney or Sarah Palin.  He needs to energize his base.

Granted, I hope he picks Lieberman too, so that Lieberman can lose a second presidential election.

I don't think it'll be Romney.  Here's what I see.  Not even a day after Obama announced that Biden would be his VP, the Republican party already has released commercials about some of the bad things Biden said about Obama while Biden was on the campaign trail.  However, Romney also said some fairly derogatory comments about McCain while he was trying to win the Republican Party nomination.  It would be very shortsighted of the Republican Party to release this advertisement while knowing full well they would be subject to the same criticism.

Shortsigthedness has become a hallmark of the Republican party at this point.  You make a good point, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is lost on the leadership of the RNC.

Well yeah..  the shortsightedness of the Democrats is shown best by how they expected a guy lacking any charisma (Kerry) to beat good ole boy Bush back in 2004.  If you don't have at least some redneck appeal, you're gonna lose the presidency.

It could also be shown by their utter failure in the Congress over the past couple of years.
